This Is Not a Court or Government Office. We operate a private reference site. We cannot retrieve an official docket, change a setting, seal a case, issue a certified copy, or provide legal advice. Direct those matters to the court clerk or the court that has the case.
Need an Official Docket or Record?
Use the appropriate official route for common Santa Fe County needs:
- A specific state-court case: begin with Case Lookup using the case number when available, or use party, attorney, or judge information to narrow the search
- A docket sheet: New Mexico Case Lookup is the no-registration public starting point for many appellate, district, magistrate, metropolitan, and municipal cases; request an official copy from the clerk that maintains the case
- A court date or setting: review Court Dates information, then confirm the current setting with the court because online calendars can change or omit an item
- Court records or case files: use Court Record Search for the request path, or contact the clerk of the court where the case was filed
- Certified copies: order them from the court clerk that is the official keeper of the record
For a First Judicial District Court record that is not available through New Mexico Case Lookup or the access level available in registered re:SearchNM, direct a written request to First Judicial District Court, Attn. Records Custodian / Kathleen Vigil, 225 Montezuma Ave., Santa Fe, NM 87501, or mail it to P.O. Box 2268, Santa Fe, NM 87504. The clerk phone is 505-455-8250; the records custodian phone is 505-455-8200; the records email is sfedrequests@nmcourts.gov. Public and clerk hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and the office is open during lunch. Give the requester name, address, phone number, and a reasonably particular record description. A case number, party name, court, date range, document type, or division helps route the request.
