Why We Built This Site
New Mexico provides public access to many court records, but locating the record is often the difficult part. A docket is the running case history maintained by the court: it can show filings, parties, hearings, and dispositions. In Santa Fe County, the First Judicial District Court is the general-jurisdiction route, but a matter may instead belong in Magistrate Court, a municipal court, or Probate Court. New Mexico Case Lookup can help identify many state-court matters, and registered re:SearchNM access may provide additional case, hearing, filing, and document options subject to access limits. We organize the local court contacts, search routes, case-number guidance, and record-request information in one reference site.
What You Will Find Here
- Case lookups: how to use Case Lookup with a party name or case number and understand its limits
- Docket guides: local explanations for Criminal Docket Search and Civil Docket Search
- Record requests: how to use Court Record Search and seek copies or certification from the court that keeps the file
- Court settings: how to read Court Dates information and confirm a hearing with the relevant court
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site, not a New Mexico court, clerk office, or state agency. Its limits are important:
- We cannot issue a certified copy of a docket, order, or court document
- We cannot alter, seal, remove, or amend a case record
- We cannot reschedule a hearing or reset a court date
- We cannot obtain an official docket sheet or case file for a visitor
- We cannot provide legal advice or interpret how a particular case affects a person
- We cannot promise that a listed phone number, fee, schedule, or docket entry remains current
Only the court or clerk that maintains a Santa Fe County case can provide its official or certified docket and record copies. This site can explain where to begin, but it cannot replace that official source.
Search Partners
Some pages include search tools supplied by third parties. Those providers operate their own services and establish their own prices and terms. If use of a tool leads to a paid enrollment, this site may receive a referral fee that supports its public availability. We do not determine those providers' prices or control the results they return.
